Cohesion
Cohesion is a network of youth workers, ministers and volunteers in Farnham who together provide recources to schools on spiritual and life issues in the education of students and give them an opportunity to hear the Christian faith in a relevant way.
Cohesion is an inter-church project. Farnham has secondary schools that are keen to engage with the Christian community and continue to extend good favour towards us. Cohesion is an important part of a ‘cohesive’ youth work across the town, facilitating all young people to engage with Christianity in a relevant way, helping Christian young people to be equipped in their faith and allowing young people to connect with the theme of justice at the heart of the gospel.
The community of young people in Farnham:
There are approximately 3500 young people of secondary school age in Farnham. Our churches reach approximately 10% of these and about half of these profess a faith in Jesus (175-185 young people). Church ministry is focussed and resource intensive yet a project such as Cohesion offers certain advantages by having a town wide perspective.
