Loving God. Loving Others. Loving Life.

I trust Sunday’s message and the launch of our series on Amazing Grace was inspiring, helpful and connected you into God and the good news gospel in a deeper and even more profound way.  May the forces of 'un-grace' role back during the term!   I loved Ian and Paula's new song (Paula's voice is almost angelic!) and I felt inspired to pray for the kids as Ivane went through the kids church programme for the term.  It was also good to pray for grace to come on this 10th Anniversary on 9/11.

Steve' interview with Rob was great fun but made a serious point - inviting people on Alpha is easier than you you think, all you have to do is ask someone to come!  Rob was invited on Alpha a few years ago and through it, found faith in Jesus.  As a result of the life he found, it's easy to understand how he wants to invite friends and colleagues.  However, his willingness is a challenge to those of us who have been Christians a long time - let's ask ourselves whether have we got the same passion for people to find life?

Momentum is building toward the Alpha Supper on Thursday 29th September.  The Alpha Course national campaign starts next week and so anyone travelling to London can’t miss the bill boards, train advert, news clips and other promotion.

With the riots in the summer, the recession and a growing disillusionment about materialism, I can’t think there has been a better time for Alpha.   Be inspired by these quotes:

“I believe the Alpha Course touches lives. I have seen so many people find a personal relationship with God & a quiet strength in their life after doing the course - me included - and it takes a proud man to say he never needs any help.  Alpha is a non pressured, and fun course, and it shows us how Christianity can be relevant and empowering to our lives.  I've seen Alpha touch so many people over the years. I’ve seen it encourage people to find a very simple faith.”
Bear Grylls, TV Adventurer

“Alpha encourages you to think… It is clear to me that hanging out with people of faith is a damned sight more productive than wailing at each other across internet threads or books.”
Adam Rutherford, Tv Presenter & Journalist

“I fell in love with the whole concept. It is a fantastic tool, which gives me an ability to ask questions, learn a lot more and discuss it all with different people.”
Ugo Monye, England Rugby International

“It will take you on a journey and I suspect you will not regret it.”
Andy Duncan, Former Channel Four CEO

23% of the UK population are aware of Alpha as a Christian Course (Ipsos MORI, October 2010).

Why not ask a friend, neighbour, someone you bumped into at the shops, onto the course this year – it could change their life, and yours!
