Sean's Blog: A New Venture!

This is a new venture for me - I hope you'll find it useful and informative. I intend it to be a way that you can find out about events coming up in church life and to keep in touch with my world.
While on holiday across the summer with Hayley and the boys (less Joe who was serving in South Africa), I've been enjoying, amongst other things, body boarding in Devon. Exhilarated from catching the ‘sweet spot’ of a few waves that shot me racing forward towards the beach, my mind went back a few years back when we felt God saying a wave of His Spirit was coming and how we should get ready to catch the wave. As I approach this autumn, refreshed and ready to get on, I sense once again a new wave building!
The summer always gives me a chance to think ahead - I am so excited about this coming year at Jubilee! Can I encourage you to be there on 25th September for our Vision Sunday, when I will lay out in more detail our aims and goals for the year. I plan to preach in the morning and then continue with more detail at the Church Meeting in the evening. Don't miss it - there's always a sense of expectancy as we depend on God to provide the means to achieve what He's laid on our hearts.
There's a lot to tell you about in the coming months. My plan is that this blog will be a weekly event. Sometimes I will invite others to contribute. There will be news, upcoming events, personal reflections and supplementary information from Sunday messages.
As the church grows its harder for me to know everyone – I hope that through this blog everyone in Jubilee will have a chance to catch my heartbeat as move forward together. I trust you like the new website that Ben Wills has been designing for us. I love the photos as it reminds me of all we do together and the great people we have in our church.
